The Beach Boys: Good Vibrations (Colored Vinyl) Vinyl 12"

The Beach Boys: Good Vibrations (Colored Vinyl) Vinyl 12"

One of the most popular songs from the heydays of Southern California's Beach Boys. "Good Vibrations" was originally recorded in 1966 and is noted for being the most expensive single ever recorded at the time of its release. The chart topping song subverted the traditional pop music formula with its multilayered soundscapes, unconventional structure and idiosyncratic instrumentation. Although the song was met with some criticism at the time of its release it would go on to be hailed as one of the most important moments in rock n roll history. Brian Wilson's use of the studio as both an instrument and writing lab was unprecedented at the time. This 12" release gives some insight into that process as it includes both an instrumental version of the song and one take that includes various sessions. Six tracks in all. Released by Capitol Records on limited edition orange and yellow swirl vinyl with alternate takes and instrumental version, and a full color printed insert.
